RUST ENCAPSULATOR: Iron oxide is no match for our original Eastwood Rust Encapsulator in a flat black finish. This aerosol paint-over-rust solution quickly stops surface rust before it can compromise the part’s structural integrity. Rust Encapsulator penetrates deep into the metal to prevent existing rust from spreading or future rust from forming. It’s also heat-resistant up to 400 degrees, which means it can be safely used in the engine bay or near the brakes.
HOW TO USE: Use a wire brush to remove loose rust, scale and paint. Remove dust, grease, oil deposits. Shake can for at least 2 mins after mixing ball starts to rattle. Feather surrounding paint with 220grit sandpaper. Apply the rust encapsulator can 10-12″ from surface. Single coats dry to the touch in 20 min and are thoroughly dry in 3-4 hours at 68 degrees F. For greater durability a second coat can be applied one hour after the first. Allow 6-8 hours after last coat before applying top coat.
